Kayuhan LTdL to promote race in Putrajaya
PETALING JAYA: More than 5,000 participants are expected to take part in the “Kayuhan Le Tour de Langkawi” in Putrajaya on Feb 3.
The “Kayuhan LTdL” is a promotional event to generate further momentum ahead of the 13th edition of the cycling championships scheduled for Feb 9-17.
The event sponsored by Amanah Raya Bhd is expected to be graced by either Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also the patron of the Tour, or the Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
Among the events lined-up are a 1km bike ride, a charity ride, the giving away of bicycles to the orphans, sponsorship presentation, lucky draws and also a display of cavalcade vehicles.
Besides the promotional event in Putrajaya there will also be several other state-level activities in Alor Star (Feb 9), Butterworth (Feb 10), Port Dickson (Feb 12) and Bandar Penawar (Feb 14).
A record 25 teams, including professional tour, professional continental, continental and Asian sides, will participate in the Tour
